This book was poorly written, had a lot of typos. Was a tough read
This is a fantastic textbook for anyone looking to teaching a Consumer Informatics class. I adopted the textbook for a class that I teach for a Health Informatics course. Covers different aspects and considerations for designing and using consumer apps. I particularly was impressed with the ethical responsibilities and considerations along with emerging trends and applications. The author of the book, Prof. Wetter, is an excellent colleague to network with. He was kind enough to meet me in-person while he was visiting the US, shared some of his recommendations on how to use this textbook effectively for teaching a class, and also was open to feedback for future considerations for the book.The textbook has a nice mix of US based applications along with other global implementations. I would recommend considering this textbook for teaching.
