Excellent! This book is a great resource for learning French. My compliments to the author for writing such a great book on How to Speak French.I strongly believe that the ability to speak multiple languages is great asset in today's world. I have tried teaching myself the French language in the past, but the other books made it very complicated and difficult. This book is simple, the author gets to the point and the learning starts immediately, words were presented very neatly and tidy.I found this book to be engaging with its fresh and practical exercises and compilation of series of sentences and expression used in the day-to-day life of a French-speaking person. The vocabulary and phrases are particularly useful for daily conversation. Whether you wish to greet people, ask for directions, make purchases, apply for a job or even reside or do business in France, this book is a great help.Basic rules of grammar are also included in this book, and an English/French dictionary. Both are really helpful and make learning easier.I think this book is an excellent tool for somebody that knows absolutely no French to begin with. I strongly recommend this book.
The book explains the grammar simply and has a variety of exercises for practice. It also introduces a lot of new vocabulary. The only issue I have with the book is that there is not phonetic pronunciation key to accompany the vocabulary words. I have no idea whether or not I am pronouncing a word correctly. I inclined such huge numbers of successful things from this book. I was really astounded by perceiving what number of imperative recommendations accumulated in such a short book. Creator completed a phenomenal activity. I'll most likely prescribe this book to my loved ones. I really appreciate this book. Thanks to creator.
I have taken two semesters of French on a collegiate level and learned more from this book than anything my instructors could have taught me. The difference between a formal class and this book is that a class can't be as personal as this book is, the author has written it in such a way that it almost speaks to each reader differently. I also like that this book has a lot of helpful tips that will enable anyone to learn quickly and easily. The phonetic spelling really helped me a lot, and even though it's a book for beginners, the dictionary included in it helps develop more language skills as the extra information made me want to learn more. I found this book to be very well written and edited and it is more than worth the money I paid for it. Thank you Bruno and Emile for this amazingly helpful book! It has made me want to learn French again and maybe even some more languages after I get through this one. :)
I purchased this book, as well as several others, in preparation for a possible trip to France in the next year.I have no prior experience with French, so I was really looking for books tailored to beginners. This one only cost a few dollars, so I decided to give it a go, and I was not disappointed! I wanted to come write a review to tell other travelers/beginners that this book is great for that purpose and to add it to their French language resources. Finding a reasonably priced language book has been a struggle for me, and I'd like to save others the time and trouble. The local bookstore wanted 10$ for a similarly sized book with almost the same content.This book is very beginner friendly and includes some basic, common phrases one may need to use when visiting the country or speaking to somebody in French. I really like that it included some of the basic grammar rules so that readers could avoid some common faux pas of the language. It starts with exploring common articles and their usage with nouns which makes the rest of the phrases easier to understand. I found the text easy to follow, and I was practicing phrases out loud before I knew it!It's also great for easy reference, as there are sections just for common elements such as months, numbers, and everyday exchanges. One can easily flip the pages and learn quickly how to say 'Hello, how are you?', check in at the hotel, or ask for directions to the museum or other destination. Shopping in France seems like it'd be much easier with this book in tow as well. There's even a handy English-French dictionary in the back that includes a lot of words. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how inclusive the dictionary was.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and think it will be a great reference book for anyone trying to learn the language, as a refresher, or for travelers. Having it on my e-reader is great because it is portable and won't weigh down my luggage like some of the bigger French language books. I have not had any trouble transferring it to my device-it loads properly and looks great. I think if you have trouble with how e-books display on your device, you need to adjust your settings because I have yet to have trouble with any e-book I've purchased. I can easily view the book when I go out or while I'm lounging around relaxing and want to practice my French. Thanks to the author for creating such a simple, easy to follow French e-book for us beginners! Definitely recommend.
